Two Month Checkup

Ava had her two month checkup today and all is well! She's now 13 lbs, 11.5 oz. and 24.25 inches (both 97th percentile)...the nurse said she must've had a growth spurt but if that's the case, I think she's been having a growth spurt since the second trimester, since she's always been measuring in on the bigger end of things. She did great at her appointment too...she was all smiles and happy noises until she got her vaccinations: an oral one for the rotavirus (the first dose she threw up all over me along with her breakfast) and four shots...she screamed for maybe ten seconds and that's all. I can't get over how well she did--my infant daughter is tougher than I am!!!! She did give us (Craig was there too) the saddest little betrayed look and she had the lower lip going, which about killed us; but no more crying than the initial reaction. I do have to schedule an appointment with yet another specialist, something about her legs, I didn't quite catch exactly what...gotta go through the paperwork from the pediatrician to see if I can figure it out. It's another one of those "probably nothing but need to take a look" things, like her kidneys and the ultrasound on her tailbone. Oh well.

Oh, I took this picture about a month ago on my phone and FINALLY remembered to download it. SO. CUTE.

Wow, that picture is amazing! They both look so peaceful.

Glad to hear the checkup went well and I'm sure the appointment with the specialist will be fine.

Thanks for the congrats on the job. I will definitely tell you all about my new classes once I start. I'm nervous, but excited!!

Time to eat your words! :) haha Get used to it, you'll probably be doing a lot of that...most Moms do!
See below: from a previous post of yours on December 21, 2007

"Anyhow, I found this online yesterday and it keeps making me laugh...not only is it funny, I've always found it amusing when moms sit around and talking about, say, percentile ranking of their kids' head sizes, etc. "

Ha ha, I know...I have turned into such a nerd! ;o)I've rationalized it by telling myself that at least I have a sense of humor about how funny it sounds. I remember laughing about percentile ranking of head sizes when I heard people talking about it and they were so offended. Jeez, I wasn't laughing at their kids' heads, I was laughing at the percentile thing... :-P

Cute picture! Yeah, she looks NOTHING like Craig. o.0

Actually, I do see some Boaz in there. It's subtle, but it's there.

Definitely not...def-def-definitely not Craig. Definitely. (HA HA HA, does my dad know you call him Rain Man? I'm so going to start doing that...)

The mouth is mine...well, she's got my lips, I am hoping that she doesn't have my mouth because she'll probably spend her entire adolescence grounded if that's the case! Oh, and her freaky monkey toes are from me as well.

OMG I'm laughing so hard at work! They're looking at me like I'm...well, a Boaz...but, I digress. Yes, your dad knows I call him Rainman. He and your mom and brothers were at my house for Christmas a few years ago and your dad had some empty beer/root beer bottles in front of him, whereupon he began to turn them all facing him, with the labels all matched up. I said to him, "Got everything all lined up there, Rainman?" OMG he was totally busting a gut. I think Aunt Cathy just shook her head and looked down. I still think to this day that Uncle Bill should have been my father. And I *love* what you said about Ava's mouth. Wish I could have been a fly on the wall during your teen years. BAD DOGGY!
